The Chemistry Department in Collaboration with the Dean of Faculty office is proud to announce Mary Ma as the 2024 winner of the Gazzaniga Family Science Award.
GAZZANIGA FAMILY SCIENCE AWARD AT DARTMOUTH COLLEGE
This prize was established to recognize the scientific accomplishments at Dartmouth of students interested in pursuing professional careers in the sciences. It is administered by the Associate Dean of the Faculty for the Sciences, with the first prize to be awarded in the Spring of 2011. On an annual basis, the Associate Dean reaches out to all academic departments and programs in the Sciences, plus Psychological and Brain Sciences, during the Fall Term to solicit nominations for the award. These nominations are submitted to the divisional council for the Sciences, up until a predetermined deadline. Once the nomination process is completed, a special meeting of the divisional council is convened, including all department chairs in the Sciences, plus the current chair in Psychological and Brain Sciences. At that meeting, the selection of the current year's Gazzaniga Award winner is made. The Office of the Associate Dean is responsible for the actual awarding of the prize as well as for submitting the annual stewardship report to the Gazzaniga Family, and coordinates that process with the Arts & Sciences Development Office.
